FAQs

What if I am a total Novice and do not have a gun?

Handgun Rental is included in the cost of our Introduction to Handgun Course and Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License Course. We have a small range of firearms and equipment for rent for many of our other classes as well for a small fee. Please indicate when booking if you will require a rental firearm for any class either than these two.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes you will get a certificate of completion for each class you successfully complete.

Do I really need formal training?

Knowing how to shoot is not the same as knowing how to fight with a firearm. Shooting skills are only one aspect of a gunfight. We teach everything from basic shooting skills to tactical training, such as understanding how distance, time, and environmental factors etc affect the outcome. The gun itself will not win the fight, the best trained individual will.

Which Gun should I bring?

You will be doing a LOT of shooting. In the most basic of our courses, most students will fire at least 100 rounds of ammunition in a dynamic environment. Our suggestion is to bring the gun that you are:

  1. Most likely to carry.
  2. Will stand up to continued use.
  3. You stand the best chance of shooting well with.
May I use a firearm with a .22 cal conversion kit in your classes?

The cost of the ammunition consumed during training can be greatly reduced by converting your chosen firearm (handgun or rifle) to .22 cal. Although we recommend you train with the same caliber ammunition you will carry for defense, we have no objections to students using .22 cal conversion kits in our classes.

I’m in Law Enforcement; can I train in my duty gear?

Of course. We recommend that you train however you carry, so if you are in law enforcement we encourage you to train in your duty gear.

Do you allow spectators at your classes?

Yes we do. The cost is the same as participation. Our stock in trade is our time and our knowledge.

Will you hold a class without a deposit or method of guarantee?

No. Unfortunately due to willful abuse in the past, we cannot reserve a space for anyone who is not willing to provide a credit card to guarantee their booking or prepay in full at the time of sign up.

What if I cannot make the class?

The Cancellation and No-Show Policies for your class are outlined in the Course Details and in your Registration Confirmation Email. If you have further questions, contact us.

Can I get a Military / Police discount?

We offer a 15% Discount for Active Law Enforcement, Military and First Responders for any of our classes valued at $150 and above.

Do you offer group discounts?

We offer a $25 per person discount for groups of 3 or more for any of our classes valued at $150 and above. Students must indicate they are attending together when reserving in order to qualify for this discount.

How do I know if a scheduled class is full?

Check the schedule page, call us, or email us to check.

I am an experienced shooter. Can I take an intermediate or advanced class without taking the basic class?

In many cases, yes, depending on your prior training.  However, many experienced shooters still prefer to take our base class as a refresher. Contact us to verify whether your previous experience/training qualifies for the course in which you are interested.

What languages are used in your classes?

English only.

Do you rent guns?

Handgun Rental is included in the cost of our Introduction to Handgun Course and Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License Course. We have a small range of firearms and equipment for rent for many of our other classes as well for a small fee. Please indicate when booking if you will require a rental firearm for any class either than these two.

What if my equipment does not work?

Our classes will not be delayed for untested or non-functioning equipment. Our job is to teach, your job is to show up with functional equipment. Test your gear before the class, so you may get the most from your training.

How much ammo do I need?

Amount actually shot will depend on course flow and will vary from class to class. Please check course description for more detail on the amount required for any particular class.
